Fight was going in me, Dham, Dhama, Dham, Dham.

I wanted to think, I started thinking, thoughts came in rushing;

There was chaos inside me, it started in me Dham, Dhama Dham, Dham.

I wanted to decide, I could not decide;

Decisions were pulling me here and there, it started in me Dham, Dhama, Dham, Dham.

Controversial points arose in me; created push inside me;

It started binding me, it started in me Dham, Dhama, Dham, Dham.

I put full effort in my life, to achieve my target;

It went in vain, that gave me pain; it started in me Dham, Dhama, Dham, Dham.

In this English hymn, He encourages us to introspect as a necessary process and path for self realization -

When we try to go within ourself and we decide that we are going to take an objective look only, we will be surprised with what we will find

We are always conflicted between the path of selfless actions and selfish actions

When we consider what are the selfless actions that can/need to be done, it can become very difficult for us to accept this as our only focus and to disregard our own self

Both our mind and heart know very well what we should actually do and we want to decide on doing everything right only

But, somehow, we are unable to commit to this, as we cannot stop thinking about the things that we need to do for ourselves

Our personal desires and wishes to do the best for our own self limits us but our conscience will start nagging us

We do not hesitate to put in our best and maximum efforts towards getting what we want for ourselves

But, this will not result in actual true benefit for us as these would be just physical, temporal achievements ; our conscience will also make us realize that we did not actually anything of substance

We, as human beings, have received the gift and benefit of understanding and thinking, sympathy and empathy and much more. However, it is also our purpose in life to use these gifts to benefit the others and the world and not just our own self. When we actually are able to think during the process of introspection, we can come to realize what we need to do and what we much do. By seeking Divine grace in this process through surrender to the Almighty, we will be able to differentiate very clearly and work on achieving the ultimate goal of becoming one with God.
