He is saying...
Looked for peace, did not find peace,
Looked for happiness, did not find happiness,
Never asked for grief, never asked for unrest, it all came running to me.
Rose many hopes in heart, found only disappointments, and courage ran away quickly.
Demand was very clear, preparation was very extemporaneous, and success deluded eventually.
Looked for love, did not find love,
Looked for patience, did not find patience,
Never looked for jealousy, it came running to stay in my eyes.
Looked for compassion, did not find compassion,
Looked for kindness, did not find kindness,
Looked for friendship, did not find friendship,
Sentiments of revenge rose in my heart.
Looked for God, did not find God,
Started longing for him in my heart,
He is the ocean of compassion, but I found him ruthless,
It is all about lack of my understanding.
Kaka (Satguru Devendra Ghia) is explaining that most of the times we are clear of what we want in life, but are lacking in efforts to achieve the same. We want everything like happiness, peace, love, friendship even God instantly. We also want instant gratification, without making any kind of efforts. First and foremost, we need to create understanding within us to see this world for what it is. Create the universal consciousness, instead of dwelling in self centric behaviour.
Whenever we limit our sense to self, suffering increases, and when the self vanishes, the suffering dissolves into lightness, ease and peace. In our new knowledge, we then experience the most profound joy.
