Gujarati Bhajan no. 981 by Satguru Devendra Ghia - Kaka

Explanation in English
Shri Devendra Ghia, fondly called Pujya Kaka, our Guruji has given treasure of bhajans through which he is guiding us, influencing us, illuminating us and being with us always. In this bhajan of introspection and awareness,

He is saying...
After visiting Kashi (holiest place), and after doing Darshan (vision of Idol of Divine), we became Kashidas (holy person).

After taking a dip in Ganga (holiest river), we became Gangadas (person of purity).

After drinking water of Jamuna ( holy river), we became Jamnadas (person, free of sins).

Slowly, slowly, we kept on changing, actually, we were Laxmidas (money minded person).

Always, we spoke about renunciation, but, in heart, there was only selfishness, and it was there day and night.
Surely, we got kicked by the nature.
At every place, we kept on changing ourselves, actually, we were Laxmidas (money minded person).

To do something wrong, we never felt discouraged in the heart.
Always, we have hidden our actual self, and also never evaluated our own self,
Behaving in hypocrisy, we just smiled and never looked around.

Slowly, slowly, we kept on changing, actually, we were Laxmidas (money minded person).

To do right or wrong, we never felt any scare,
Though, we understand what is right, but we never did anything right.

Divine Mother is symbol of God, then we became Prabhudas (person with godliness).

With every place , we kept on changing, but actually, we were Laxmidas (money minded person).

Kaka is very beautifully explaining that we believe us to be a holy person or pure, truthful person, just because we visit a holy place or take a dip in pure, holy water. But truthfully, we are selfishly motivated money minded people. We hide that side of ourselves not only from the world, but also from our own selves. We pretend that we are godly people. Kaka is urging us to change ourselves from within, and cleanse ourselves internally, and be connected with Divine with intense emotions of devotion and internal worship.
