Shant Sarovar Na Mara Mann Na Neer, Aaj To Daholai Gaya

(Self Realization, Introspection)

Gujarati Bhajan no. 994 by Satguru Devendra Ghia - Kaka

Explanation in English
In this bhajan of introspection,
He is saying...
The peaceful clear water of my mind has gotten hazy today.
The reflection of mine that was seen in that water has gotten wiped out today.
With every stone (whims and fancies of mind), thrown in the peaceful water of my mind, it created many ripples (complications), even though the stones were not seen.
In that ripple, the vision of my own face disappeared.
Even though the stones were thrown by me myself, I could not see the stones (oblivious to our own whims and fancies).
Ripples and ripples were created, and in those ripples, I could not even see myself.
These stones went deeper and deeper after creating ripples.
I looked for them so much, but they were not found.
Who to tell, they were thrown by me myself, and were thrown without my realization.
The ripples never reduced, the vision of my face just disappeared.
Kaka is reflecting on our uncontrollable mind and our whims and fancies of mind. They are like stones thrown in the water, which just creates waves and serves no purpose. Unbridled mind can be our worst enemy. It just robs us of our peace, perception and judgment. We ourselves create so many complications in our lives with our uncontrollable thoughts. These whims and fancies of our mind blur our view of what is right and what is wrong. We would be completely at loss with ourselves. Unstoppable thoughts shakes up our calm consciousness. Kaka is urging us to have Clarity in our thoughts, which is the stepping stone in the journey of final realization.

He has written about 10,000 hymns which cover various aspects of spirituality, such as devotion, inner knowledge, truth, meditation, right action and right living. Most of the Bhajans are in Gujarati, but there is also a treasure trove of Bhajans in English, Hindi and Marathi languages.
