અજાણ્યા જગમાં પ્રવેશતાં, માનવ રડતો આવ્યો
અજાણ્યા જગમાં પ્રવેશતાં, માનવ રડતો આવ્યો
છોડતા આ જગને, માનવ તો રડી પડ્યો
અજાણ્યા જગ સાથે બાંધીને, માયામાં બંધાતો રહ્યો
છોડવી બની મુશ્કેલ, છોડતાં તો એ રડી પડ્યો
છોડીને પ્રકાશ આજે, અંધકારે એ ડૂબી ગયો
અંધકાર કોઠે પડ્યો, પ્રકાશ એ ભૂલી ગયો
મેળવતાં જગમાં તો એ હસી પડ્યો
ગુમાવતાં થોડું પણ એ તો રડી પડ્યો
હાસ્ય ને રુદન છે મિશ્રણ જીવનમાં, કદી એ રડી પડ્યો
જીવન જીવતાં માયા બંધાતાં, કદી એ હસી પડ્યો

ajāṇyā jaga sāthē bāṁdhīnē, māyāmāṁ baṁdhātō rahyō
chōḍavī banī muśkēla, chōḍatāṁ tō ē raḍī paḍyō
chōḍīnē prakāśa ājē, aṁdhakārē ē ḍūbī gayō
aṁdhakāra kōṭhē paḍyō, prakāśa ē bhūlī gayō
mēlavatāṁ jagamāṁ tō ē hasī paḍyō
gumāvatāṁ thōḍuṁ paṇa ē tō raḍī paḍyō
hāsya nē rudana chē miśraṇa jīvanamāṁ, kadī ē raḍī paḍyō

In this Gujarati bhajan of awareness,
He is saying...
While entering this unknown world, a human entered crying,
Leaving the world, a human ended up crying.
Bound to this unknown world, he kept bonding with the illusion.
It became difficult to leave and he ended up crying while leaving it.
Leaving the light (divine connection) today, he got engulfed by the darkness (ignorance).
He got so used to the darkness, that he completely forgot about the light.
Achieving in this world, made him happy,
Losing a little made him cry.
Laughing and crying, both are a mixture of life, sometimes he ends up crying.
And, while living life, building attachments, sometimes, he ends up laughing.
Kaka is explaining that a human is alive when he is experiencing joys and sorrows, laughter and cry. This is a unique mixture of life. Starting from at the time of birth, the fear of unknown makes him cry, and at the time of death, the fear of losing the attachments of this world makes him cry. In between this two points he manages to become happy and sad with the attachments of this world. These joys and sorrows of the world are short lived. Kaka is urging a human to rise above this cycle of high and low and remain connected with Divine, then he will experience certain calm and peace that he has never experienced before. That is the light that he has forgotten about. That is the eternal bliss that he has forgotten about.
