ઘૂમે ઘૂમે મનડું મારું, ઘુમાવે મને જ્યાં ને ત્યાં
ઘૂમે ઘૂમે મનડું મારું, ઘુમાવે મને જ્યાં ને ત્યાં
શાંત ના બેસે એ જરાયે, ઘૂમે અહીં ને કદી ક્યાં ને ક્યાં
ઘૂમતા થાકે એ તો જ્યારે જ્યાં ને જ્યાં
ફરી ફરી પાછું આવે પાસે, ત્યારે ત્યાં ને ત્યાં
દોડાદોડી છે આદત એની, થકવે મને એ તો સદાયે
દોડી દોડી સાથે થાક્તો હું તો, ન સુધર્યું એ ક્યાંય
જનમથી છે એ તો સાથે, અધવચ્ચેથી એ છૂટે ના
કોશિશ કરી ઘણી શાંત કરવા, શાંત એ થાયે ના
મૂંઝારો હૈયે થાયે મારા, આદત એની એ છોડે ના
થાકી પાકી, ગયો એ તો પાસે ઉપાય બતાવ્યો ત્યાં ને ત્યાં
ભક્તિ કેરું અમૃત પાવું કર્યું શરૂ, જ્યાં આપ્યું એણે ત્યાં
ફરી ફરી જાવા લાગ્યું એમાં, સ્થિર થાવા લાગ્યું ત્યાં ને ત્યાં

My mind has been wandering, it makes me wander everywhere,
It is never allayed, wanders here and sometimes where and where
It gets tired after wandering everywhere,
Every now and then it comes back to me, then there and there,
It is in the habit of running around, it tires me always,
After running around with it even I get tired, it has not improved at all,
It is with me since birth, it will not leave me mid-way,
I have tried many times to calm it, but does not calm down,
My heart is confused, it does not leave its inherent nature,
Too tired, it gave me a solution, then and there,
I started worship to drink the nectar, It gave me then and there,
It started drifting towards devotion and worship, it got still and calm then and there.
Here, Kakaji mentions about the mind being a monkey and jumping in all directions. Only the true worship and devotion towards the Divine Mother will allay and still it.
