Good bye, good bye, good bye; we should be ready to say good bye,

It’s time in life to say and give many things a good bye and good bye,

We are bounded in life by wrong notion, it’s time to say it a good bye.

We are carried away by wrong feelings, we should be ready to give it a good bye,

Bounded by avariciousness as we are, we should give it a good bye,

Greediness as it prevails in our life, before it settles should give it a good bye.

Foolishness as it overcomes our life, be ready to give it a good bye,

Anger and anguish as it rules us in life, now say to it a good bye,

Wrong actions and wrong thoughts should not allow to settle, say it a good bye,

Hate should not take our life, before it overcomes us say it a good bye.

In this English hymn, He guides us on how to live a peaceful life

We should be ready to say no to many, many things in life

We should say no to all the wrong thoughts and ideas we keep having

We should say no to all the negative feelings we keep having

We should say no to going after material things in life and become content with what we have been blessed with

We should not be trapped by continuously wanting more and more

We should say no to absurd and irresponsible actions

We must control our anger and misery such that it does not become our only center of attention

We cannot let our wrong rationalizing and wrong actions be our standard mode of operation in our life

Our antagonism towards anything should not be allowed to become a part of our nature

For most of us, whenever we think or talk of achieving something, it is usually in terms of material things. The longer we keep chasing all the material achievements, the more stronger our attachments will become and even harder to let go of them. The time to stop chasing all these trivial things is as soon as possible. We need to to able to leave all these material things that motivate us to put in all our efforts, so that we can redirect all our efforts in the right direction. For this, we can pray to God to take over from us and do whatever He thinks will be right for us. Once we are able to completely redirect our chase of all the right things, the whole accompanying baggage of wrong pursuits will also become unimportant for us. In this process, all our incorrect thoughts, wishes, desires, various wrong feelings will also become irrelevant. We will then be able to live our life with detachment and calm.
