How I met my Guru?
by Swati Singh (BE, MBA Finance) on 13 Jun 2020
It is aptly said- ‘Sweet are the uses of adversity’. I realized this when I was going through a low phase in life. I wanted to get something but was not able to attain it. Tried all kinds of tricks to achieve it but as the wise men say ‘something that is meant to be will always find its way, something that isn’t doesn’t come what may’. So finally had to let go of it. Felt very lonely and empty from within. Seemed like I had fallen from a height. Devastated and depressed left alive.

When you hit rock bottom in life, you are always left with 2 options- move towards self-awakening or go down in the doldrums. At that time, I had the fortune of being introduced to my Guruji Shri Devendra Ghia (Kakaji (Satguru Devendra Ghia)) through my mama. He led to the path of enlightenment. Never have I tread alone after that. Although I haven’t met him in person his teachings and his values are ingrained in me.

People say you are lucky to someone who just had a close shave in life. But there is a lot that goes behind in the back-end. Here's my tale- was working with a prestigious airline for good three and a half years. Had applied for a European opportunity for one year, within the same airline. Was selected for the final interview. But as luck would have it, I got rejected for the position. Fortunately, I had an alternative offer from a different company, so I took it up and left the airline firm. As any rejection would make one feel dejected, I went through the same but I thanked Kaka (Satguru Devendra Ghia) as I had an offer in hand at that time to look ahead in life. But started introspecting self why was I rejected? Lack of experience, corporate politics, or some other reason not visible to my eye. Kept wondering what went wrong.
Cut to a year later, got the news of the airline closing operations completely. I realized why Kaka (Satguru Devendra Ghia) said no at that time. Had all acquaintances coming and telling me that I took the right decision and moved at the right time, I would just smile and know it deep down under that it is He who held my hand and saved me from the storm ahead.

Hold on- my list of miracles doesn't end here. As destiny would have it similar incident happened with me in the second organization I worked with. I got an offer from a US-based firm so I accepted it and left the second job. Soon after my exiting. the company closed within less than a year. Should I thank my stars which saved me twice or is there some divine energy, my guiding light that is acting my Sarthi?

Well the list of believe it or not incidents happening with me are endless. Each time I just thank Him and pray that He never leaves the hands of His children. May His presence stay forever!
