Steps for knowledge is always, what for and why so

Inquisitiveness within always asks, what for and why so

Action in life calls for reason, what for and why so

In arguments, it is handy to say, what for and why so

Difficulties do arise, face it, know it, what for and why so

Feelings do arise within, know it, what for and why so

Knowingly unknowingly, attached as we are, what for and why so

In life we are carried by passions, what for and why so

Kicks in mind, answer we want to find, what for and why so

English Explanation

In this English hymn, He advises as follows -

To be able to do anything in life, one must first know what for and why you must do so

This desire to know has to come from within and is a crucial step before doing anything

After you know what for and why, you will be able to do something properly as you will know that it needs to be done and how

This situation is no different from when one has disagreements as you will also have to show what it is that you do not agree with and why you do not agree

We will need to face difficulties and it will be easier for us to overcome when we know what is the difficulty and why is it a difficulty

We have feelings about someone or something and we should also know what are those feelings for and why we have those feelings

We get attached to many things without giving any thought to what is there to be attached to and why must we be attached to it ; if we cannot know this, then there should be no need to get attached. Once we do know this, we have to decide if we really want to be attached to this or not

We get worked up about a lot of things ; but, did we first understand what is there to get worked up about and why ?

Through such questioning, we will realize that the only answers that are worth pursuing are the questions on the Divine and Almighty

It is important to realize that we can only understand things by questioning first. If you do not know why you need to do some thing and just do it without any awareness, it may not be right action taken or even needed. If it is not needed, you would have wasted your effort and time. If you do something not knowing what you are doing and why you are even doing it, you may take incorrect action and you may still have wasted your efforts and time. After all such questionings, we will come to self realization that we are only concerned with pursuing trivial and insignificant things and it will start us off on our spiritual journey, as this will be no simple journey.
