ઘેઘૂર ઘૂઘવતા ઘેરા નાદે, પોકારતો પોકારતો, ચાલ્યો સાગર તો ભેટવા કિનારાને
દીધા વ્હાલથી ભીંજવી કિનારાના પથ્થરે પથ્થરને, દીધી ભીંજવી એની કણેકણને
ઊછળી ઊછળી જાય એ તો દોડતો, ભેટવા પ્રેમથી તો કિનારાને - ચાલ્યો...
કિનારાને સમાવવા જાગી એવી ઊર્મી, ભૂલી ભાન જાય ભટેવા એ તો કિનારાને
આવી સંયમની યાદ જ્યાં એના હૈયે, વળ્યો પાછો એ તો, જોતોને જોતો કિનારાને
ભક્ત ભરજે હૈયે તો તારા, આવા ભાવના મોજા, જગતમાં ભેટવા તારા હરિને
રોક્યો ના સંગ તો, અટકાવ્યો ના અટકજે તું, જીવનમાં ભેટવા તું વ્હાલા હરિને
સાગરની સાથે તો છે નિત્ય કિનારો, રહ્યો છે તોયે એ તો, સંયમના દોરથી બંધાયો
છે તું તો મુક્ત તારા હરિને ભેટવાને, બંધાજે ને બાંધજે પ્રેમના દોરથી હરિને

sāgaranī sāthē tō chē nitya kinārō, rahyō chē tōyē ē tō, saṁyamanā dōrathī baṁdhāyō
chē tuṁ tō mukta tārā harinē bhēṭavānē, baṁdhājē nē bāṁdhajē prēmanā dōrathī harinē

Taking the dancing ripples of the waves, the ocean went to hug the shore.
No one could stop its momentum, no one could stop its emotions, the sea went to hug the shore.
With a roaring sound, it kept on calling out, the sea went to hug the shore.
It bathed each and every stone of the shore with love, it bathed each and every sand grain.
Dancing and dancing, it went to meet the shore with love.
The impulse to merge with the shore was so immense, that it forgot everything and went to hug the shore.
When it remembered its boundaries, it turned back, gazing at the shore.
Oh devotee, fill your heart with such waves of emotions to meet the Lord.
Do not stop yourself, do not stop even if you want to stop, do not hold back, just go and meet your beloved Lord.
The shore is always with the sea, yet it is always tied by the rope of restraint.
You are free to meet your Lord, tie yourself and the Lord with the string of love.
