ભક્તિની ભાવના હૈયે માડી ભરાઈ જ્યારે, આંખે અશ્રુ માડી ખૂબ વહ્યા ત્યારે
અસંતોષ હૈયે ખૂબ વ્યાપ્યો માડી જ્યારે, હૈયું તડપી રહ્યું અશાંતિમાં માડી ત્યારે
ક્રોધની જ્વાળા હૈયે જાગી ગઈ માડી જ્યારે, વિવેક બધો ભુલાયો માડી ત્યારે
જ્ઞાનની સાચી ઝંખના હૈયે જાગી માડી જ્યારે, પ્રકાશ મને મળી ગયો માડી ત્યારે
લોભ લાલચે હૈયું લપટાયું માડી જ્યારે, સાચી દિશા ન મળી મને માડી ત્યારે
હૈયે દર્શનની તીવ્ર ઝંખના જાગી માડી જ્યારે, દર્શન દેવા તું તો દોડી આવી માડી ત્યારે

aankh maa maadi, ver vasi gayu jyare, a jaag dushmana lagyum maadi tyare

Explanation in English
In this Gujarati Bhajan Kakaji is expressing the situation of a lost devotee. A devotee who is engrossed in the Divine Mother does not remembers the world as he is in totality with the Divine, keeps you happy even in solitude. Gives the power to overcome all turbulences.
Kakaji expresses
In your memory when I was lost, I forgot the consciousness of the world.
He is analysing on the various behaviours which are performed according to the status of mind and heart.
In the eyes of the beholder when vengeance resides then the world seems to be an enemy.
And the same heart responds differently, when the sprinkles of love are sprinkled in the heart then this world seems to be sweet.
When all the efforts turn to be successful then the
then the heart is filled with courage.
When spirit of devotion is filled in the heart, then the heart becomes compassionate and tears start overflowing from the eyes.
When the heart is disturbed and tormented dissatisfaction spreads all over.
When the flame of anger revokes in the heart then all the senses are forgotten.
But when the true longing for knowledge and wisdom arises then light is found.
As the mind is lured of greed till then the right direction is not found.
As in the heart intense longing for the Divine Mother's vision awakens then the compassionate Mother runs on the spot to give her vision.
