જન્મી કાદવ કીચડમાં રહેતું અલિપ્ત એનાથી સદાય
જન્મી કાદવ કીચડમાં રહેતું અલિપ્ત એનાથી સદાય
ખીલીને સુગંધ દેતું, રહેતો ભમરો એનાથી આકર્ષાય
સંસાર કાદવમાં જન્મ્યાં તમે, અલિપ્ત રહેજો એનાથી સદાય
ગુણ સદા કેળવજો એવા, પ્રભુ સદા રહે એનાથી આકર્ષાય
હસતું હસતું ખીલીને ઝીલતું એ તો સૂર્યપ્રકાશ સદાય
સાંજ ઢળતા બંધ થઈ, અંધકારને દૂર રાખે સદાય
જ્ઞાન કાજે રાખજો ખુલ્લા દ્વાર, હૈયાના તમે સદાય
અજ્ઞાન કેરા અંધકાર કાજે, કરજો બંધ બારી તમે સદાય
ગુણ એવા કેળવી, કમળે લીધું છે પ્રભુચરણે સ્થાન
ગુણ તમે પણ કેળવજો એવા, પ્રભુચરણે મળશે સ્થાન

saanj dhalata bandh thai, andhakarane dur rakhe sadaay
jnaan kaaje rakhajo khulla dvara, haiya na tame sadaay
ajnan kera andhakaar kaje, karjo bandh bari tame sadaay

In this beautiful Gujarati Bhajan Kakaji is comparing the virtues of a pious Lotus with the human values.
Kakaji expounds
Born in the muddy swamp, but stays detached from its dirt forever
It blooms and spreads out the fragrance, attracting the beetle.
Kakaji here is giving the example of a Lotus to explain further
Though born in the mud of the world be detached from its illusions forever.
Cultivate your virtues as such, that the Lord is attracted towards you forever.
The Lotus keeps smiling and blooms blinking at the sunshine.
As evening ceases to fall it starts closing it's petals as if keeping the darkness away forever.
So keep the doors open of your heart forever for knowledge.
Where there is ignorance, there is darkness always, if you close the windows.
Due to these virtues, Lotus has taken place at the Divines feet.
If you cultivate such virtues within you, then you shall also get place at the Divines feet.
