(Knowledge, Truth, Thanks)

Gujarati Bhajan no. 732 by Satguru Devendra Ghia - Kaka

Explanation in English
With illustration of Lord Shri Ram, Sitaji, Laxmanji and Ravana story, Pujya Kaka, our Guruji also known as Shri Devendra Ghia is amplifying the concept of Mirage called Maya, an illusion. And, the concept of devotion and self control as two sides of a same coin.
He is saying...
Game played by golden deer, attracted Sita MA ( Mother),
Laxmanji tried to stop her a lot, but she was consumed by the beauty of the deer (illusion). Laxmanji drew a line of protection or restrain, but Sitaji forgot about it, she crossed over the line of restrain and got caught in the hands of Ravana (devil), who was just waiting for her to cross over the line. Sitaji was protected because of her devotion to Lord Rama (God). But, when devotee gets tempted by illusion, God is forgotten from the heart. Devil always wants to snatch away the devotion, and results is separation from God.
Devotion is always protected in self control and restrain, should never cross over the line of self control and discipline. Devotion will be robbed as soon as this line is crossed over.
God will be separated from within, as soon as you fall in the hands of devil.
Kaka is reflecting on two aspects in this bhajan. One is about attraction to illusion over and over again, despite having the awareness and knowledge about character of it, and how it leads to path of distraction and destruction. Second aspect is that spiritual practice should be followed with self control and restrain to have any kind of upliftment. It is very easy to slip away from it, one has to imbibe traits of self control and discipline to have closeness with Divine.
