Mann Ne Manavish Ketlu Re Jeevda, Mann Ne Manavish Ketlo

(Mind, Heart, Feelings, Thoughts, Remembrance)

Gujarati Bhajan no. 975 by Satguru Devendra Ghia - Kaka

Explanation in English
In this bhajan of life approach, he is shedding light on our mind energy.
He is saying...
How much you will cajole your mind, O human being, how much you will cajole your mind.
Innumerable efforts are made, O being, ultimately, it slips out of your control.
Running after your running mind, you will be tired, O being, you will surely be tired with all the running around.
If you don’t become firm and focused, O being, then you will find only disappointments.
Since ages, your mind has been a part of you, but how much it has done as told.
By making you dance in this worldly matters, O being, finally, it has made you exhausted.
You just unnecessarily wandered around, and you wasted your energy, O being, you wasted your energy.
Eventually, you have not achieved any thing, on the contrary, you have lost a lot, O being, how much you actually achieved!
How much of this you will allow, O being, how much of this you will allow.
Be firm and take control of your mind, O being, now at least be firm.
Kaka is explaining that how much of our energy gets wasted running behind our mind’s whims and fancies. He is reflecting that our uncontrollable mind energy brings only disappointments, without actually achieving anything. And most importantly, it doesn’t allow us to stimulate our divine energy. Kaka is urging us to be the Master of our mind, not the Slave of our mind. Our mind energy is inherent, but we need to learn to balance that energy with Divine energy which is hidden within us. Make efforts to invoke our divine energy and mind will automatically be calm.

He has written about 10,000 hymns which cover various aspects of spirituality, such as devotion, inner knowledge, truth, meditation, right action and right living. Most of the Bhajans are in Gujarati, but there is also a treasure trove of Bhajans in English, Hindi and Marathi languages.
