જીવનમાં તો આવે સદાયે તડકો ને વળી છાંયા
જીવનમાં તો આવે સદાયે તડકો ને વળી છાંયા
કાચા તાંતણાં છે જીવનનાં, કાચી છે તો કાયા
ના જોડજે મનડું એમાં, બાંધજે ના એમાં માયા
ના કંઈ લઈ જાશે સાથે, સાથે ના કંઈ લાવ્યા
સવાર પડે સૂરજ ઊગે, ક્રમ આ તો ના બદલાયા
આવ્યા કેટલા, ગયા કેટલા, હિસાબ ના મંગાયા
કર્મો કીધાં સાચાં ખોટા, એ સદા તો લખાયા
કદી વહેલાં, કદી મોડાં, પડશે એ તો ભોગવવા
કર્મોની ફેરબદલીએ, કાયા ને સંજોગો ઘડાયા
દઈને ચાવી હાથમાં માનવને, કર્તાએ હાથ ખંખેર્યા

In this Gujarati bhajan, he is shedding light on true character of life, and beyond life.
He is saying...
In life, one experiences the sun (hardship) and the shade (comfort) too.
The thread of life is raw (transitory), and the body is also raw (transitory),
Please don’t get connected to it, don’t get attach to this illusion.
You will not be able to take anything with you, and you have not brought anything with you either.
Upon dawn, sun rises, this sequence never changes.
How many came and how many went, there is no count to that.
Only right and wrong karmas (actions) performed are written down.
Sometimes early, sometimes late, one will have to bear the consequences of them.
Due to these karmas (actions), the body and circumstances are defined.
By giving key in the hands of humans, the doer has washed away the responsibility.
Kaka (Satguru Devendra Ghia) is explaining the essence of life in this bhajan. He is explaining two fundamentals, firstly, that life is transient. There is nothing permanent about this life. We must acknowledge and imbibe this fact in our daily conduct in our life. And secondly, that we are the playwright of our own drama of our life. Kaka (Satguru Devendra Ghia) is directing us to the transition stage where we disconnect with the material world and tune into universal mind. Comprehend what is not so permanent and what is eternal. Find the actual purpose of life.
