ઊગે દિન ન કોઈ એવો, રાત જેની કદી આવી નથી

સાંજ ન ઢળી હોય, એવો દિન કદી તો જાતો નથી
મળે ન દવા કોઈ જેની, રોગ એવો કદી થાતો નથી
જન્મે છે જે જગમાં, મર્યા વિના કદી રહેતા નથી
શ્વાસ લેવાયો જે અંદર, બહાર આવ્યા વિના રહેતો નથી
પ્રગટેલો અગ્નિ, દઝાડ્યા વિના કદી રહેતો નથી
પ્રકાશ ફેલાતાં, અંધકાર દૂર થયા વિના રહેતો નથી
જળ તો પ્યાસ બુઝાવ્યા વિના તો રહેતું નથી
સુખ પાછળ તો દુઃખ આવ્યા વિના કદી રહેતું નથી
પડતી પાછળ ચડતી તો આવ્યા વિના રહેતી નથી
ગોતતા તો, કારણ જડ્યા વિના તો રહેતું નથી
શંકા તો બરબાદ કર્યા વિના તો રહેતી નથી
જગમાં માગ્યા વિના તો કંઈ મળતું નથી
પ્રાર્થના તો ફળ દીધા વિના તો રહેતી નથી

In this Gujarati bhajan,
He is saying…
Not a single day dawns,where the night doesn’t follow,
No such day has passed, where the twilight doesn’t follow.
There is no such disease, for which the medicine is not found in this world.
Those who are born in this world, they do not live forever without dying.
The breath, which is inhaled, will not stay within without exhaling.
The burning fire doesn’t stay without burning you.
With spreading of light, the darkness doesn’t last without disappearing.
Water doesn’t stay without quenching the thirst.
After happiness, the unhappiness doesn’t stay without following it.
After the descent, the ascent doesn’t stay without rising.
Upon searching, the reason doesn’t stay in hiding.
The doubt doesn’t stay without ruining everything.
Nothing is attained in this world without asking for it.
The prayer doesn’t remain ever unanswered.
Kaka is explaining about the natural order of this world and characteristics of every aspects of life by giving many examples like, day and night, inhaling and exhaling, happiness and unhappiness, life and death, ascent and descent. He is further explaining that there is a reason for everything in life. Nothing happens without a reason. It can be answered only through the prayer. Prayer inspires self reflection, compassion and devotion.
