જીવન માર્ગ, સમજ (Life Approach, Understanding)

English Bhajan no. 4956 by Satguru Devendra Ghia - Kaka
Tense, tense and tense, something in life always makes us tense
We have left our past tense, we have to build our future tense
   But we have to live in our own present tense
Past gave us experience to think about the future
   but we will have to live in our present and present tense
To remain always in past tense, will make us miss present and future tense,
Think and think and be tense in it will not allow to remain in present tense
Superiority of past with meagre present tense, can never bring superior future tense
Leave all the past behind, be prepared to live in present and present tense,
   Only that and that will create your bright future tense
Past can never bring future tense, only your present tense will bring your future tense,
However meagre your past tense may be;
   your superior present tense will bring your and effect your future tense
Past is out of your reach, future has not come;
   Do not allow to slip from your hand, your present tense
SATGURU DEVENDRA GHIA (KAKA)

Explanation in English
Our dearest Guruji, Shri Devendra Ghia (lovingly known as Kaka), a complete and total devotee of the Divine Mother and the Almighty God, in all their many appearances (Avatars), has written an incredible 10,000+ hymns with Divine inspiration. In this English hymn, Kaka is guiding us how to live a peaceful life :

We will have to face various types of circumstances in our life that can give rise to concerns and escalate to stress within us and we need to be able to face such situations head on

Our past has finished and gone and we have to look forward to our future

But, we have to live in the current circumstances

What happened in the past can serve as a base for what can possibly happen also in the future

But, we have to live in the current circumstances

If we only keep thinking about the past, then we will ignore our current situation and anticipation of the future

Yearning and thinking of the past will prevent us from looking forward to a brighter future and will only lead to unnecessary concerns and escalate to stress

Not being able to give up the past will spoil the present life and will not result in a better future

So, we must forget about the past and live in the present moment by experiencing everything fully

Only doing our best today can help ensure a better future

Past will not lead to a better future but only how we manage the present can surely determine how better our future can become, especially if our past was not great

Having a current meaningful and purposeful life will become the foundation of having a better future life

Past is no longer with you other than in your mind and future is not yet come so it is also just in your mind

So, do not let even the present life become the past without doing all the right actions

Everything that we do in life will give us an experience, whether positive or negative, whether leading to our growth or stagnation or even regression. Our experiences, which are in the past, are meant to teach us but we should not delve in the past only and to move on in life. Our life can be stressful about something or the other depending on our outlook and approach. Cause of this can either be our attachment to the past or overly concerned only about the future, while completely ignoring the present. But, by making the best efforts in the current circumstances will enable a meaningful present and a fruitful future.
