(Knowledge, Truth, Thanks)

Gujarati Bhajan no. 1055 by Satguru Devendra Ghia - Kaka

Explanation in English
Shri Devendra Ghia, our Guruji, fondly called Pujya Kaka has written many many bhajans on life approach along with devotional bhajans. Spiritual awakening in day to day life eventually leads to spiritual awareness and faith in Divine. In this Gujarati bhajan,

He is saying...
You have been given beautiful chariot (human life), and it’s connected with five mischievous horses (five senses).

They drag you in different directions, what to talk about that.

Want to tie them with the thread of restraint, they keep running everywhere.

My condition has become out of control, what to talk about that.
With great difficulty, I control one, then the others get away.

My chariot (life), remains there and there only, it doesn’t move anywhere.
They have just dragged my life and dragged my life and it has worsened my condition.

Moving forward has remained on the side, it has actually ruined me.

I ask for your support, O Divine Mother, please give your hand in support.
When I make mistake, then please take control of my chariot in your hand and salvage me.

Kaka is explaining that we have been given this human life with human body and five senses that are vision, hearing, smell, taste and touch. These tools are given to us to perceive the world, but if these tools are misused then the effects of that misuse is catastrophic.
Engaging God with all our five senses is an important aspect of our spiritual journey. Kaka is urging us to use these senses in spiritual ways, see Divine in everyone, hear the sound of Divine everywhere like in blowing wind or in chirping birds or in rising waves. Use touch for healing, feed the hungry, and smell the fragrance of Divine all around you. Merge the physical sensation with Divine sensation, then begins the highest path. Life becomes Divine experience.

He has written about 10,000 hymns which cover various aspects of spirituality, such as devotion, inner knowledge, truth, meditation, right action and right living. Most of the Bhajans are in Gujarati, but there is also a treasure trove of Bhajans in English, Hindi and Marathi languages.
