Following discipline is difficult but the fruits (rewards) of it is very sweet.
Being patient is difficult but the fruits (rewards) of patience is very sweet.
Temptation is very alluring but the fruits (effects) of it is dreadful.
It is very easy to be angry but the fruits (effect) of anger is awful.
To seek knowledge is difficult but the fruits (rewards) of knowledge is very sweet.
To work hard is grueling but the fruits (rewards) of hard work is very sweet.
Doubt rises very easily but the fruits (effect) of doubts is detrimental.
To build animosity is easy but the fruits (effect) of animosity is awful.
To keep faith is difficult but the fruits (rewards) of faith is very sweet.
To invoke devotion is difficult but the fruits (rewards) of devotion is sweet.
To pretend is very easy but the fruits (effect) of hypocrisy is dreadful.
To lie is very easy but the fruits (effect) of lying is awful.
Kaka is explaining that good things in life are difficult to achieve while the bad things are easily attainable. It is in our control to stay away from bad and adopt the good, since ultimately, we are the ones bearing the fruits of our actions. Kaka is urging us to stay patiently focused on the path of devotion with utmost faith and diligent discipline. And steer away from temptations, anger, animosity, deception and hypocrisy. Gaining good attributes and discarding bad will lead us in seeking a life of divinity, fulfillment, joy and peace.
